My name is Donna McKinnon. I live in a cold, northern city and I spend a lot of time in bookstores trying to stay warm. In fact, I used to work in an independent bookstore where I fed my passion for beautifully illustrated children’s picture books and poverty. I am also an illustrator, fighting a very persistent and long-standing case of procrastination and/or laziness, depending on the day. I have a BFA in Drawing and Visual Communications and a strong aversion to pineapples. I am also in possession of a very lovely cat. She weighs 22 pounds.
This is a picture of me. It was taken awhile ago.
My friend thinks it’s false advertising…I don’t think I’ve changed at all. Except I am now available in colour.
One more thing, this blog wouldn’t exist if it wasn’t for my friend Kevin: word checker, web spinner, idea spiller, side splitter, and all around ass-kicker. You. Da. Man. You have my deepest appreciation.
